I've received the licence file, but have not received the driver software!

Our important note which was included with your product has recently changed, as a result this goes against our current system. The latest software is available when you need it directly from this site (Below).

I've got the licence file, the driver software, I'm ready to activate!

Please remember, typically DigiFlash is sold for use on a single computer system, therefore please ensure you only activate the licence on the one machine you plan to use DigiFlash on. Additional licence files can be requested, please e-mail support@surftec.com providing details of how you plan to use your additional licence. We are also open to issuing licences so your friends and family can trial our software!

Frequently Solved Problems

My SmartMedia JUST won't work, and I have got an activated licence file installed!

Try putting the media in the right way around, ie contacts facing towards the base of the reader with the angled edge of the media into the reader first. Also check that you are using Release 2!

I have a RISC PC, and I don't think I have a PS2 port!

Your RISC PC does have a PS2 port, the keyboard on a RISC PC is just a standard PS2 keyboard, so you'll find you can plug the readers power connector into your RISC PC!

The media I am attempting to use won't work!

CompactFlash and SmartMedia media is FAT formatted, usually known as DOS formatted. DigiFlash doesn't have the ability to format media so if you have media which doesn't work with DigiFlash try formatting it using your Digital Camera.

Further problems can usually be solved by checking our manual first, then reviewing any updated information on the 'ReadMe' file supplied alongside the driver application before phoning for support. If you have checked the manual, and readme file then feel free to e-mail or phone us for support.

Prerequisites before using and installing DigiFlash.

Support will be provided to any users suffering from difficulties with our software, or installing licence file and registering their product. Our support however should not be used as a substitute to learning the basics on how to maintain and control your RISC OS computer system.

The RISC OS Welcome Guide gives all the basic information needed in order to install and use DigiFlash. We have also done our best to provide as much detailed documentation as possible via the printed DigiFlash manual, our licence activation e-mail etc. Due to time restrictions, we will when it is deemed necessary point the user towards the Welcome Guide before further support and help can be provided.

We have over the last months received many calls where people have not read or attempted to follow our instructions contained within the manual or e-mails. If you have read our instructions, and find you get stuck we'd love to hear from you, so that we can ammend them to help future users. The instructions assume basic knowledge of the following:

  • Dragging and dropping files (required for the licence activation and basic useage of our product)
  • Basic useage of your preferred e-mail software, and downloading any attached files within the e-mail
  • Renaming a file
  • Setting a filetype (required for the licence activation and basic useage of our product)
  • Double clicking
  • Basic navigation of a discs directory structure

You will be able to find detailed help on all of the above (except e-mail) in the Acorn RISC OS Welcome Guide.
